Bashneft Introduces Domestic Customer Payment Service at Petrol Stations in Nine Regions of Russia

18 September 2024

Bashneft (part of Rosneft) launched self-checkouts at its petrol stations, which made it possible to automate the payment process and make purchases without a cashier. It is the first petrol station network in Bashkortostan with such a project.

Digitalisation in all areas of operation is one of the key objectives of the Rosneft-2030 Strategy. The introduction of digital technologies in the Company's retail business is aimed at improving the competitiveness of the petrol station business and the level of client service, as well as increasing the efficiency of customer service.

Graphic self-checkout for self-payment of petroleum products and related products at petrol stations is a software and hardware complex of domestic production. The interface is very user-friendly: all columns are visible on the screen of the digital cash register, the customer can select the required volume of petroleum products or refuel for a certain amount. In addition, the customer can purchase coffee and related products on their own without contacting the petrol station operators.

The graphic self-checkout provides a number of benefits: increasing the throughput capacity of petrol stations, reducing customer service time and lowering staff workload.

Self-checkouts have already been installed at 24 Bashneft petrol stations in the Republics of Bashkortostan, Udmurtia and Mordovia; Orenburg, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Ulyanovsk, Vladimir and Chelyabinsk Regions, and plans to implement the new technology at more than 100 petrol stations in 2024-2025.
