History

JSC East Siberian Oil and Gas Company (JSC Vostsibneftegaz) has been a member of NK Rosneft Group since May 2007.

The company carries out preparatory work for the full-scale development of the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye oil and gas condensate field located in the Evenki District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and also conducts trial oil production. Commercial products are supplied to the system of main oil pipelines.

In 2014, Vostsibneftegaz started the implementation of the project Development of the Extended First Section of the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoe Field. The beginning of commercial operation is scheduled for 2017 and involves reaching a long-term oil production plateau of 5 million tons per year in 2019.

Vostsibneftegaz JSC is the owner of licenses:

  • for geological pioneering involving exploration and evaluation of mineral deposits, appraisal and extraction of mineral resources within the Yurubchensky subsoil site.
  • for geological pioneering involving exploration and evaluation of mineral deposits, appraisal and extraction of mineral resources within the Agaleyevsky subsoil site.

In addition, Vostsibneftegaz JSC, on the basis of an agency contract with NK Rosneft, carries out geological exploration at the following licensed sites of PJSC NK Rosneft in the Krasnoyarsk Territory:

Work began in 2010 on construction of pilot production wells at the first section of the field in order to finalize technology for drilling, commissioning and operation of new well types (horizontal and inclined). Final decisions on technical aspects of field development will be taken based on results of this work. Seasonal oil production in 2010 for the Company’s own needs and the needs of nearby communities was provided as part of the pilot project. Full-scale development of the field will only be possible if a special tax regime is put in place, since large investments are needed to address its complex geology and remoteness from transport infrastructure.

Rosneft plans to develop the field in several stages, beginning with production drilling at the first section of the field, construction of field infrastructure, and building of a 600-km pipeline to Taishet (the start point of the ESPO pipeline).

Seasonal oil production was carried out at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field in 2009 to provide for the Company’s own needs and the needs of nearby communities. Due to its complex geological structure and lack of transport infrastructure, full-scale field development requires substantial investment and is therefore subject to tax benefits.
